With the leaves turning
And the moon of October
burning
As the crisp fall winds swirl
around
Fall reminds me of my home
town
The corn ready for harvest in
the field
Combines running past dark
tooth and nail
All the colors of the turning
leaves
The lonely look of the baron
trees
Scarecrows and pumpkin
patches galore
Welcome trick or treater
signs hanging
on front doors
The smell of nature on a hay
ride
As the harvest moon hangs in
the sky
Singing tunes and watching
for goblins to go by
And of course the very best
Getting ready to celebrate
the Octoberfest
Ghosts flying through the
night
Children running from fright
Knowing all the scary things
Are just part of Halloween
Haunted houses, paths and
trails
Scarecrows hanging from a
rusty nail
Corn stalks and hay freshly
bailed
Smells of fresh baked pies
Coming from grandma's kitchen
Pumpkin, apple and mince
meat,
sitting side by side
Popcorn balls, caramel apples,
and sugar cookies, too
Treats just waiting for me
and you
Fall reminds me of all the
things
I remember as a child
The chill in the air outside
The crisp sound of the leaves
under my feet
And of course the trick or
treat
Fall reminds me of home
Thinking of it hugs my soul
And all the love shared this
time of the year
Holding family and loved ones
near
Fall is my favorite season
And there are many reasons
Ending summer, the cold
refreshing air
And to me, a time to remember
and share
Of course, another reason too
Time for football, WooHoo!!!!
Getting ready for opening day
Those monsters of the midway
