Morning Ritual

Morning Ritual

With my morning cup of coffee,
I sit down and go on-line.
I just can't wait to check the mail,
From all those friends of mine.

There's letters there from down the road,
And from a guy across the state.
He needs someone to hear his tale,
For he's just lost his mate.

One lady writes me every day,
To tell me of her pet.
I know of all his aches and pains'
And of her trip to see the vet.

Then there's the guy who lost a limb,
  In a place called Vietnam.
He tells me of the nighttime 'shakes'
When he still hears the bomb.

I then find notes from other folks,
Who find jokes they want to share.
They seem so full of love and joy,
They want to show they care.

Newsletters come from 'round the world,
Each one is full of news.
Just helping people through the day,
There is no time for the 'blues'.

There's always one that makes your day,
  From someone you hold dear.
You know that you have made a friend,
It feels like they are near.

Friends come in and out our lives,
Some stay for years,.. some days.
The one you really means the most,
Is that one who always stays.

So when you find that 'special friend'
Take them deep within your heart.
And let then know how much you care,
  And that you'll never part.

For GOD has sent that angel,
To be with you, in HIS place.
And once you open up your heart,
You'll see HIM, within their face!
