A New Mascot

A new mascot was born today,
He crawled out from the mine.
This cat has many lives to give,
He gave them to all nine.

Nine men were buried as they worked,
We prayed they would survive,
Three days, the rescue crew worked on,
And brought them out alive.

These man have served their time in hell,
They've risen from the grave.
GOD held them in HIS loving arms.
And told them to be brave.

Each time these men go down the shaft,
Their families kneel and pray.
They ask GOD to bless each one,
To make it through the day.

The cat's nine lives, can be a sign,
Nine miners now are free.
GOD worked another miracle,
For all of us to see.

From this day on, each time I see,
A strong and brave feline,
My mind will take me back again,
To the old Quecreek Coal Mine.

One cat, nine lives, nine miners, alive!

This wasn't a MINER (minor) incident but a MAJOR miracle.
