Lasting Friendship

Through the storms of friendship
The thunder and the rain
All the joys of laughter, along with the tears of pain
When things got rocky and not quite right
Your lasting friendship was my guiding light
When things went from happy to sad
And back again to glad
You were there to hold my hand
Lend an ear and help in the plan
Whenever I felt lost or alone
You opened up your heart and your home
When life's journey seemed dark and bleak
Your friendship brought a shining light to me
I always knew you would be there
To give me a hug, a smile and to care
To all the times that we have shared
I want to thank you for always being there
Life's storm can bring on the rain
Your friendship has always eased the pain
We have been through so much through the years
It comforts me to know you are near
Whenever I need that shoulder to lean on
Whenever I need someone to be strong
It eases my soul to know you will come along
Maybe I haven't told you enough times
How much you mean to me and my life
So now with these words from my heart I want to say

With your help I have weathered the storms
With your friendship I feel safe and warm
A kindred soul you have become to me
With your companionship you offer unconditionally
