Always Here For You

When we find someone who is and will be loyal
Who will be here no matter the situation
When others have turned their backs
We call that person a special friend
I call you friend for that is what I found in you
To have always been here
Letting me be there when you need a hand
To lend an ear when you need to vent
A shoulder to lean on and cry with you
To give you the support you need
Feeling all the while you were heaven sent
A friend, a companion by your side
Someone you can count on day and night
A confidant with whom your secrets you can trust
And to you, never tell false lies
Someone you can rely on through thick or thin
And know they will be there in the end
A special and unique friend
Someone that lets you be you
And will always be faithful and true
These friends are not always easy to find
Sometimes in life, it just takes time
I found a friend like that with you
And no matter what we may go through
This is a friendship for life
One to cherish through the times
I want to thank you for letting me be myself
And for putting up with my crazy ideas
Whether you agreed or not
Together we share our lives and souls
And I want you to know
Whether you are close or far
Always remember, I'm just a phone call away
And I'll be here for you anytime day or night
When I think of friendship I think of you and me
The time we spend together just talking
Sharing our hopes and dreams
Taking time to listen to all things
I know you will always have a smile
Waiting to share through the miles
When I read your words so sweet
I thank you for being a friend to me
You will always be in my heart
Always near, never far
Through all times this friendship will never die
My buddy, my pal, friends, you and I
So with these words I write with a smile
A little ditty, a little rhyme
Just to you so you will always know
Your friendship has touched my heart and soul
