My Dad, My Friend

As I think about you Father
All the years we had to share
It means a lot for me to know
That you were always there.

Through all the years of growing up
And now I've finally matured
The bond we had between us
Through thick and thin endured.

Now that you're getting older
So sweet with every year
You're my knight in shining armor
I'm so happy to have you near.

I want to say thank you
For being a wonderful Dad
One thing more I'd like to say
You're the best friend I ever had.
