Do You Remember When

Do you remember when
We were small and full of fun
Playing in the freezing snow
And the hot scalding sun.

Remember as we got older
We tried out many things
Like Mother's bright red lipstick
Her lockets and her rings.

We dressed up in lace curtains
That had been tossed away
Put on a show and charge five cents
What a happy day.

Then we started dating
Sharing laughs and a few tears
Doesn't seem that long ago
Though it's been many years.

We graduated from high school
Time to think about a career
Getting a job and starting a life
Filled us full of fear.

Marriage and family finally arrived
We went our separate way
Reminiscing of those days gone by
And now I'd like to say.

I have never forgotten our friendship
So I had to let you know
I think of you so often
And I wanted to tell you so.

God Bless you as you live each day
A nicer friend couldn't be found
If I listen closely
I hear our happy sounds.
