A True Friend

If there is someone you can trust
With a heart full of love for mankind
Someone who's sweet and lovable
All those qualities are hard to find.

Someone who is the same each day
Only one face you can see
Then count yourself very lucky
If a friend they would like to be.

Not many people take the time
To be compassionate, honest and true
You never quite know where they stand
Or if they want to be friends with you.

I guess we have to take each day
And seek those who are caring and sound
If the quality is there you are lucky
For a special friend you have found.
