You and God are walking along the beach. His footprints appear steady rarely
varying in pace. Your prints are a disorganized stream of zig zags, starts,
stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.


The path looks this way for quite a while. Gradually, your footprints come
in line with God's & soon parallel His, consistently. You are walking as
true friends & this seems perfect. Then an interesting thing happens; your
footprints which once etched the sand next to God's are walking precisely in
His steps. Within His larger footprints you see your smaller "sandprints" as
you and God are becoming One - this goes on for many miles. Then gradually
you notice another change. The traces of your sandprints are no longer
visible. You've merged & become one Traveler.


The path continues in this way for a while. Then something startling occurs.
Your original footprints are back and more erratic than before. Zig zags
all over the place...an amazing & shocking mess! Stops...starts...deeper
gashes in the sand... Nervously you ask God if you've regressed since the
footprints indicate separation - and this time it's obviously much worse.


"God smiles, winks and then laughs, "relax & enjoy ... it
looks that way because we're dancing."
