As I sat down at my puter
With my morning "pick-me-up"
Simply put, it is the brew
Called caffeine in my cup

I went online to check my mail
But no word from you again
Then I began to wonder
How has my girlfriend been?

She hasn't written in so long
But then I'm sure she's busy
If she's like me, her life is like
A whirlwind in a tizzy!

With her children & her family
I know she's working hard
And then of course, let's not forget
Her job, the house, the yard

Or could it be that she is gone
Off on a grand vacation?
If she's not home, then she can't write
That might be the explanation

I wonder how's she's doing
And if everything is well
Without a letter in my box
It's hard for me to tell

Oh No, I thought, and then sat back
I guess I need a breather
Upon reflection, I admit
I haven't written either

If I don't write, how will she know
She's in my thoughts most all the time
And how much I am truly missing
That special friend of mine?

That clinches it, now I know
Exactly what to do
I must scribble out a little note
And send it off to you

So as you're sitting at your puter
With your morning "pick-me-up"
And see my letter in your box
And wonder "Hey, what's up"

Just know this, you're in my thoughts
And you'll always be my friend
